Ronkonkoma Beach Reopens in time for Holiday Weekend
Lake Ronkonkoma Beach reopens after another algae bloom effected the lakes water quality.
Long Island NY (AH)- August 30, 2013
Lake Ronkonkoma Beach in the Town of Islip has been reopened to bathing, the Suffolk County Department of Health Services said Friday.
Closed Wednesday as a result of higher than acceptable levels of blue-green algae, more recent samples showed water quality to be at acceptable levels, the health department said.
The beach had also been closed to bathers earlier in the month for the same reason, and was reopened Aug. 22, officials said.
