Maggie Daniels Suspected Murderer Sharman Odom case has new details

There has been some new unsealed warrants to help shed some more light on this sad tragedy of Maggie Daniels.
Maggie Daniels, 31, was found dead in her apartment June 28. She was four days away from obtaining her master’s degree.

The death remained a mystery for more than a month. Daniels’ relatives hoped that justice would be served. Those hopes were realized Saturday, when Sharman Odom, 34, was arrested and charged with Daniels’ death.

According to new warrants unsealed Friday in the Maggie Daniels murder case, her boyfriend’s mother found her body the morning of June 28th.

The documents say that Addie Shuford, reached out to authorities for help after finding her “daughter-in-law” unresponsive in her apartment.

Maggie Daniels was found face-down on the floor of her apartment. Clothes and other items were strewn about the room, which police say points to a struggle.

The warrants also say Daniels’ body was cold to the touch when she was discovered.

Authorities seized a number of items from Daniels apartment including an iPad, iPod, Macbook computer, clothing, a purse, cigarette butts, bedding, drywall, floor mats, cleaning supplies, a broken mirror and hairs.

After the autopsy was completed June 30, the death investigation was changed to a homicide.

Police have charged Sharman “Crisspy” Howard Odom with first degree murder, first degree sexual assault and first degree kidnapping. He is scheduled to appear in court in early October.

On Thursday, the Catawba County District Attorney filed a motion for a Rule 24 hearing. This means that should Odom be convicted by jury, the DA will seek the death penalty.

It is a shame to still turn on the news and realize nothing is ever good news. At least the family can start to get closure. But so many people where touched by Maggie Daniels in her lifetime.
